Growing up in Sherwood Park, Renee Brown Lobb developed a lifelong passion for skating, which she now channels as a physical education teacher and the founder of BrownSk8s Power Skating. Based in Edmonton, Renee empowers athletes to skate smarter and reach their full potential on the ice. With degrees in Kinesiology and Education, she combines her expertise in movement science with a player-centered approach to instruction. Drawing on over a decade of coaching experience, she works with skaters in the Greater Edmonton Area, including Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan and Beaumont. Her focus is on developing foundational skating skills and fostering a deep understanding of the mechanics behind each movement.
Renee’s philosophy emphasizes the importance of education in athletic development, teaching athletes the ‘why’ behind their movements to elevate their performance and the way they think the game. By designing developmentally appropriate drills and utilizing innovative training methods, she creates an engaging environment that promotes growth and mastery. Whether teaching in Edmonton or coaching skaters across the region, Renee is dedicated to building confident, skilled athletes who not only improve their technical abilities but also embrace the learning process. Her mission is to foster a love for the sport that lasts a lifetime.
